A CBS anchor’s husband had his restaurant raided by ICE brokers this week.

[ad_1] The restaurant belonging to the husband of CBS Information anchor Norah O’Donnell was raided by ICE on Tuesday.

An area D.C. Fox affiliate reported that ICE brokers went into "Chef Geoff’s" restaurant in D.C. that morning and requested to see employees members’ I-9 types proving they're legally allowed to work within the U.S. The go to reportedly despatched employees into "a panic."

"Chef Geoff’s" is owned by Geoff Tracy, who's married to the longtime CBS Information anchor and correspondent.

According to Fox 5 , "Practically a dozen regulation enforcement and immigration officers sporting DHS uniforms" went into the restaurant situated on New Mexico Avenue, Northwest.

The brokers had been at Tracy’s restaurant for round 90 minutes, although nobody was taken into custody.

The ICE stop-ins have occurred at a number of D.C. eating places in current days. The outlet reported that eating places in Dupont Circle and Columbia Heights have been visited by ICE brokers as effectively.

Millie’s — a restaurant close to D.C.'s Massachusetts Avenue — advised Fox 5 that seven brokers entered the restaurant on Tuesday as effectively, demanding to see I-9 types. In line with employees, the brokers had a warrant that was signed by one other ICE agent, not a choose.

In an announcement to " The Washingtonian ," Millie’s proprietor, Bob Blair, recalled that the brokers "all got here in all the public entrances on the similar time."

Blair slammed the federal government inspections, saying, "We had been beneath the impression that they had been specializing in looking for criminals. And that is only a complete new stage of harassment to our hard-working, law-abiding staff."

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser weighed in on the raids, telling the outlet, "I've heard these studies. I’ve been getting all of them morning. I'm disturbed by them. It seems as if ICE is at eating places, and even at neighborhoods, and it doesn’t appear to be they’re focusing on criminals, and it does appear to be they’re disrupting."

Bowser added that D.C. regulation enforcement is on no account concerned with the raids.

The raids come as President Donald Trump 's administration stays dedicated to deporting unlawful immigrants from the nation.

Trump is also suing O’Donnell’s employer, allegedly that CBS deceptively edited a 2024 interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris to help her presidential marketing campaign.
