Chanting “Ruto should go,” hundreds of protesters have flooded Nairobi’s streets to demand the resignation of the president.

They waved Kenyan flags and carried branches as an emblem of peaceable opposition.

Police had deployed barricades and razor wire to seal off main roads - particularly these resulting in State Home, President Ruto's official residence, and parliament.

Crowds are shifting in teams via Nairobi’s central enterprise district. In some surprising moments amid the charged ambiance, protesters paused to play soccer on a closed-off road.
