China's love for jade: Coveted gems smuggled out of Myanmar

Myanmar is the world’s main producer of jade. As much as 90 % of worldwide provide of the dear stone is mined within the nation’s northern Kachin state, regardless of a decades-long armed riot raging there. Based on the NGO World Witness, some 90 % of this jade is then smuggled overseas – nearly all of it to neighbouring China.
