Essence Fest takes the blame for Lauryn Hill’s late efficiency.
Essence Pageant is stepping in to ease the stress off Lauryn Hill, who carried out later than scheduled by means of no fault of her personal.
On July 7, the pageant posted on its official Instagram account a spotlight from Hill’s efficiency and addressed misconceptions about why her set ended at 3:37 a.m. regardless of being initially scheduled for 12:35 a.m. Based on Essence, Hill deserves the utmost respect, and any delay was their accountability, not hers.
“Household is household, and round right here, we shield our personal it doesn’t matter what the PEOPLE need to say,” Essence wrote.
“Let’s be very clear— WE don’t play about Ms. Lauryn Hill. Not for clicks. Not for headlines.”
The media outlet continued. “She arrived on schedule, stepped on that stage, and delivered the type of efficiency solely a legend can.”
Hill didn’t hit the stage till 2:30 a.m., following units from Maxwell, Babyface, the Isley Brothers, and GloRilla, which all ran not on time. Consequently, Essence took the blame for her lateness.
