There’s a well-known story, probably apocryphal, that goes like this: on the top of the Second World Battle, Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt maintain a summit in Tehran to debate technique. Stalin makes some proposal regarding Poland—the main points are unclear—and Churchill objects, warning that the Pope received’t prefer it. To which Stalin scornfully responds: “The Pope? What number of divisions has he?”
