The idea of a giant, hidden planet or planets lurking in probably the most distant areas of our photo voltaic system has been identified since earlier than Pluto’s discovery on Nineteen Thirties. Initially named “Planet X,” it had been proposed to account for irregularities in Uranus’s orbit. That thriller was finally resolved by recalculating Neptune’s mass. However in 2016, Caltech astronomers Konstantin Batygin and Mike Brown resurrected the puzzle with a brand new thought — Planet 9 — which was based mostly on the weird orbits of distant Kuiper Belt objects.
