Aug. 16—Dr. Robert J. “Bob” Lowe Bob Lowe handed away on June 4, 2025, in Southern California, leaving a legacy of affection, service, and surgical excellence as a basic, vascular, and transplant surgeon, husband, father, colleague, and pal. Born in northern Wisconsin, Bob thought of each Wisconsin and New Mexico residence, residing in Albuquerque for over 50 years. He earned a BS in Biochemistry (1970) and an MD (1974) from the College of Wisconsin-Madison, the place he met his spouse, Elena Spielman on the “Kerk” consuming cooperative adjoining to campus. They married in 1976 and remained intently related to their UW associates, attending the Kerk’s annual “Large Chill” reunion for over twenty years. Bob accomplished his basic surgical procedure residency at College of New Mexico Hospital. In 1980, he joined Surgical Associates, a non-public surgical procedure apply affiliated with Presbyterian, St. Joseph, and Lovelace Hospitals. Surgical Associates was identified for dealing with advanced and weird instances; in 2000, Bob and his companions pioneered laparoscopic donor nephrectomies in New Mexico.
