At the least 1,000 individuals have been killed in a landslide that destroyed a village within the Marra Mountains space of western Sudan, leaving just one survivor, the Sudan Liberation Motion/Military stated on Monday.

The landslide struck on August 31 after days of heavy rainfall, the group led by Abdelwahid Mohamed Nour stated in an announcement.
