It is the second time the French authorities has fallen because the 2024 snap legislative elections known as by President Emmanuel Macron, and there’s no finish in sight to the nation’s political instability, FRANCE 24 Brussels correspondent Dave Keating stated. Prime Minister François Bayrou’s defeat in Monday’s confidence vote “provides to the notion that President Macron is a lame duck and unable to take a lead on the European stage”, Keating stated.
