President Donald Trump introduced on Wednesday that his administration can be designating the far-left radical activist group Antifa a terrorist group.
The president introduced the transfer on his platform, Reality Social.
“I’m happy to tell our many U.S.A. Patriots that I’m designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION,” Trump wrote. “I can even be strongly recommending that these funding ANTIFA be totally investigated in accordance with the very best authorized requirements and practices. Thanks in your consideration to this matter!”
A White Home official later instructed CNN that the designation is “simply one in all many actions the president will take to deal with left wing organizations that gasoline political violence.”
The president’s transfer comes within the wake of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Utah Valley College final week by the hands of a younger man allegedly animated by left-wing ideology. As Breitbart Information reported on Monday, White Home Deputy Chief of Employees Stephen Miller pledged “to make use of the entire of the federal authorities to focus on and dismantle the organized left-wing home terrorist motion in the US.”
Whereas Antifa has described itself as an anti-fascist group, its members have usually engaged in “doxxing, violence and intimidation,” as reported by Fox Information.
The bullet casings discovered close to the suspected weapon used to assassinate Charlie Kirk had been engraved with, “Hey fascist! Catch!” and “Bella ciao bella ciao ciao,” which stems from “an anti-fascist track popularized by the Italian resistance throughout World Struggle II,” per Fox Information.
