Why it issues: Greater than a decade in the past, Europe rewrote web guidelines which successfully compelled all the web to undertake stricter guidelines on cookie consent by amending the ePrivacy Directive. Since 2009, from large tech giants, to small private blogs, and nearly any internet-based group needed to show a “cookie banner” to first-time guests. Collectively, European customers spend an estimated 575 hours yearly clicking by these pesky prompts.
