When OpenAI launched its new AI-generated video app Sora final week, it launched with an opt-out coverage for copyright holders — media corporations would want to expressly point out they didn’t need their AI-generated characters operating rampant on the app. However after days of Nazi SpongeBob, prison Pikachu, and Sora-philosophizing Rick and Morty, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman introduced the corporate would reverse course and “let rightsholders determine the way to proceed.”
