MANILA/BEIJING, Oct 12 (Reuters) – The Philippines and China accused one another on Sunday of accountability for a maritime confrontation close to disputed islands within the South China Sea, additional escalating tensions within the resource-rich waterway.
The Philippine Maritime Council, an inter-agency authorities physique, blamed Chinese language maritime forces for deploying water cannon and ramming a Filipino vessel close to the Philippine-occupied Thitu Island, domestically often known as Pag-asa, “strongly condemning” the incident and vowing to pursue “acceptable diplomatic motion”.
