China has suggested its residents to keep away from travelling to Japan, escalating a diplomatic feud sparked by feedback from Tokyo’s new prime minister a few hypothetical assault on Taiwan.
Sanae Takaichi informed Japan’s parliament on 7 November that the usage of power towards the self-ruled island claimed by China might warrant a military response from Tokyo. Japan has since mentioned its place on Taiwan – simply 100km from the nearest Japanese island – is unchanged.
