For me, probably the most pleasurable elements of the Amazon sequence is the distant rivalry between the Sheriff of Nottingham (Sean Bean) and Eleanor of Aquitaine (Connie Nielsen). Whereas the Sheriff is hell-bent on progressing his personal energy, Eleanor is attempting to make new allies by means of written correspondence.
