Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has praised 43-year-old fruit store proprietor Ahmed al-Ahmed as “an Australian hero,” after visiting the Syrian-born man in hospital following his intervention throughout Sunday night’s assault, saying his braveness in working towards hazard “represents the perfect of our nation.”
Al-Ahmed was injured whereas disarming one alleged attacker, an act authorities say could have saved lives.
