Kentucky Senator Rand Paul criticized President Donald Trump’s navy actions and elevated hostility to Venezuela, labeling the seizure of sanctioned Venezuelan oil tankers as “a provocation and a prelude to struggle.”

In a Sunday interview on ABC Information, Paul (R-Ky.) made his opposition to international navy interventionism within the Caribbean recognized, citing considerations of an all-out struggle with Venezuela.

“I’m not for confiscating these liners. I’m not for blowing up these boats of unarmed individuals which might be suspected of being drug sellers. I’m not for any of this,” Paul acknowledged.

Paul went on to notice that President Trump pardoned former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was serving a 45-year jail sentence after being convicted of conspiring to import a whole bunch of tons of cocaine into the US and associated weapons offenses.

In his pardon announcement, President Trump argued that Hernandez was handled unfairly, calling his conviction a “horrible witch hunt.”

“Why is the previous president Hernandez of Honduras, who was in jail for 45 years, why is he launched?” Paul questioned. “So some narco-terrorists are actually OK and different narco-terrorists we’re going to explode. After which a few of them, in the event that they’re not designated as a terrorist, we would arrest them.”

Paul’s feedback got here as the US Coast Guard pursued a 3rd Venezuelan oil tanker, after seizing a second tanker on Saturday.
