French farmers steered some 350 tractors on January 11 towards French Parliament to protest low incomes and an EU commerce take care of South America that they concern threatens their livelihoods. They are saying their earnings are squeezed by rising prices of gas, fertilizer and animal feed in addition to heavier environmental guidelines and value stress from retailers – the final straw being the just lately signed Mercosur deal.
