The paper clip downside all the time appeared too absurd to me. Also referred to as the paper clip maximizer, that is the thought experiment by philosopher Nick Bostrom that imagines how a superintelligent AI with the objective of maximizing paper clip manufacturing might find yourself destroying the world by directing all obtainable assets to creating paper clips.
