In the early hours of Monday morning, a younger lady’s physique was discovered being mauled by a pack of dingoes close to a shipwreck on a windswept stretch of white sand seashore on an island off the east coast of Australia.
The island was Ok’gari, previously often called Fraser Island, in southern Queensland, dwelling to about 150 human inhabitants and a inhabitants of dingoes genetically distinct from these on the mainland. Known as wongari within the language of its Butchulla conventional house owners, the lean yellow and white canids are sacred to the First Individuals and indelibly entwined within the cultural material of this world-heritage listed sand island.
