Early in Kip Williams’ profession as a social psychologist, he was on the park together with his canine in Des Moines, Iowa, when a flying disc landed on his blanket. The fellows it belonged to had been clearly ready for it, so Williams stood up and tossed it to them. To his shock, as he ready to take a seat down, they threw it again to him. “All of a sudden I used to be a part of a three-person toss,” he says. “We did not converse to one another or something; we had been simply throwing it round. A pair minutes glided by, after which, for causes I nonetheless do not know to this present day, they stopped throwing it to me.”
