Rep. Garbarino renews name for DHS oversight listening to after Minneapolis taking pictures

A Republican lawmaker is asking for an oversight listening to of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agencies , renewing a request from earlier this month as consideration turns to a deadly taking pictures involving federal brokers in Minneapolis.

Rep. Andrew Garbarino, R-N.Y., chair of the Home Homeland Safety Committee, stated Saturday he's looking for testimony from senior DHS officers following the death of 37-year-old Alex Pretti .

Garbarino stated the request builds on an invite issued by committee employees on Jan. 15, which he's now formally following up on.

The officers he named embrace performing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Todd Lyons, U.S. Customs and Border Safety (CBP) Commissioner Rodney Scott, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Companies (USCIS) Director Joseph Edlow.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem pushed again in opposition to Frey throughout a press convention on Saturday, blaming him and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for inflaming tensions and accusing them of encouraging resistance to federal legislation enforcement and refusing to cooperate with immigration authorities.

"They should consider their rhetoric, their conversations, and their encouragement of such violence in opposition to our residents and our legislation enforcement officers," she stated.
