The US secretary of state Marco Rubio instructed ambassadors within the Center East to cease making public feedback that would inflame tensions and undermine Donald Trump’s stress on Iran to relinquish its capability to supply a nuclear weapon, based on a memo obtained by the Guardian.
“Given rising tensions within the area, Chiefs of Mission and embassies at addressee posts should chorus from public statements, interviews, or social media exercise that would in any means inflame regional audiences, prejudice delicate political points, or complicate US relationships,” the cable mentioned.
