Essentially the most attention-grabbing product Apple introduced this week was its least expensive and least highly effective laptop computer, the MacBook Neo. It’s simply fascinating to see the corporate deal with a wholly new class — it’s not a premium ultraportable just like the MacBook Air, and it’s not a computing powerhouse just like the MacBook Professional. It’s merely an inexpensive $599 laptop computer. And after spending a while with it at Apple’s spring launch occasion at present, I’m satisfied it’s going to be an enormous hit for the corporate.
