Katie Couric asks Newsom if he has ‘Zoolander drawback’ with being good-looking

Longtime journalist Katie Couric requested if Gov. Gavin Newsom , D-Calif., had an issue with being "ridiculously handsome."

Throughout an interview on Couric's " Next Question " podcast launched Thursday, the previous "At present" co-host remarked on how Newsom has been described as "slick" and whether or not that was a reference to his coiffure. Newsom acknowledged that the feedback had brought about him to play right into a "character."

"Do you have got a 'Zoolander' drawback?" Couric requested, referencing the 2001 Ben Stiller comedy .

After Newsom started laughing on the remark, she adopted, "Are you simply ridiculously handsome, as Vogue stated? No, severely. What do you do about that?"

"You do not do something about it. 'Cuz if you are going to do one thing about it, then you definately're b--------ing folks. You realize what? I'm who I'm. And it is fantastic. You do not have to love me. Or perhaps you want a slick particular person. I do not know. No matter. It is okay," Newsom stated.

Each Newsom and Couric had been mocked on social media for the change.

"He cannot run for President on his document, so they're making an attempt to manufacture charisma," conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller wrote.

Couric's feedback resembled a Vogue journal profile piece on Newsom, a 2028 presidential contender , that described the governor as "embarrassingly good-looking" final month.
