It’s been every week that’s seen a brand new Ayatollah proclaimed in Iran. Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the assassinated supreme chief Ali Khamenei, has not been seen in public and is believed to be in hiding after reportedly being injured in the identical strike that killed his father. State tv confirmed crowds chanting “Lengthy Dwell Khamenei”, whereas at night time in Tehran some residents risked arrest to shout from their home windows: “Demise to Mojtaba”. A press release attributed to the brand new chief vowed continued assaults on US and Israeli pursuits, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and what it referred to as “unending revenge”.
