Afroman wins First Modification case over songs mocking police raid

Rapper Afroman is celebrating a significant authorized victory after an Ohio jury dominated that his songs and music movies mocking a police raid on his house are protected by the First Modification.

His music movies garnered thousands and thousands of views on YouTube and immediately referred to the raid within the lyrics, movies and titles of songs like "Will You Assist Me Restore My Door?"

The seven sheriff’s deputies who sued Afroman had been collectively searching for almost $4 million in damages for defamation, arguing they’d been harassed over the movies.
