Displaced folks in Lebanon are more and more being pressured to sleep on the streets as housing turns into unaffordable amid hovering costs, in keeping with Matthieu Karam, editor and photographer at L’Orient-Le Jour. He added that many Lebanese have grown suspicious of these sleeping tough, fearing that members of Hezbollah could also be amongst them. Karam described the humanitarian state of affairs in Lebanon as “catastrophic,” warning that renewed threats of an Israeli invasion have made circumstances “far more harmful than through the 2024 battle.”
