We communicate to an influential voice on European reform, the previous Italian prime minister Enrico Letta, writer of a landmark report on the way forward for the Single Market, offered in April 2024. Two years on, he says a lot of its suggestions stay unimplemented, warning that continued fragmentation of the Single Market – and by extension the vitality market – is contributing to greater prices for the EU amid the conflict within the Center East.
