Dave Mason, co-founder of the British rock band Visitors, has died. He was 79.

"It's with deep and profound unhappiness that we share the information of the passing of Dave Mason," a press release on the musician's official Instagram learn. "On Sunday, April 19, after cooking an incredible dinner together with his beloved spouse Winifred, he sat all the way down to take a nap with candy Star (the maltese) at his toes."

"He passed away peacefully , in his favourite chair, surrounded by the attractive Carson Valley that he beloved a lot. A storybook ending. On his personal phrases. Which is how he lived his life proper up till the top. He leaves an enduring imprint on the soundtrack of our lives and the hearts he has lifted. His legacy might be cherished ceaselessly."

In a press release to Deadline , the rock legend's consultant stated, "On behalf of his household, it's with deep and profound unhappiness that we share the information of the passing of Dave Mason."

"On Sunday, April 19, the Rock & Roll Corridor of Fame inductee, celebrated songwriter, musician, singer, and writer, handed away peacefully at his dwelling in Gardnerville, NV."

"Dave Mason lived a outstanding life dedicated to the music and the individuals he beloved," the spokesperson added.

The reason for his demise is unknown.

In 2024, Mason canceled his "Visitors Jam Tour" resulting from "a critical coronary heart situation," in accordance with Deadline. A yr later, the guitarist introduced his retirement, citing "ongoing well being challenges."
