UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer was grilled throughout questions in Parliament over his resolution to nominate Peter Mandelson as Britain’s high diplomat to Washington, successfully brushing apart safety issues. Starmer as soon as once more confronted calls to resign from the opposition, after former high civil servant Olly Robbins testified this week that there was an “ambiance of stress” from Downing Road to approve Mandelson’s appointment.
