At the very least three Russian fighters died when a convoy of the Russian paramilitary group Africa Corps was caught in a jihadist ambush on August 1 close to Ténenkou within the Mopti area of Mali. Members of the jihadist group JNIM filmed grisly footage of the lifeless Africa Corps combatants. They’re the primary photographs of deceased Russian troopers to have emerged from the area since Africa Corps took over from the personal Russian group Wagner in Mali in June.
