‘Absence of credible alternate options’ has allowed Iranian regime to outlive, analyst says

Talking with FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen, Trita Parsi, Govt Vice President of the Quincy Institute, says that ‘we’re seeing a dramatic radicalisation of the protest motion which is in the end a response to the brutality of the regime’, including that the ‘absence of credible alternate options’ is likely one of the causes that the Islamic Republic has been capable of survive regardless of its unpopularity, incompetence and corruption.
