AG Bondi proclaims DOGE cuts to Justice Division: 'Extra to come back'

[ad_1] The Justice Division launched a few of its "best hits" when it continues to slash thousands and thousands of {dollars} of wasteful grants, Attorney General Pam Bondi mentioned Wednesday.

Among the many cash that can be saved is $2 million that was used for "nationwide listening classes of people with lived expertise," in addition to $695,000 for "a parallel convergent mixed-methods case research analysis design to evaluate the efficacy of police departments’ LGBTQ liaison companies."

The company will save one other $250,000 used to fund a grant for "working with incarcerated transgender people offering gender-affirming care to together with housing in gender-appropriate amenities."

The strikes are half of a bigger effort by the Division of Authorities Effectivity (DOGE) to do away with wasteful spending and downsize the scope of the federal authorities.

Final week, DOGE introduced it had labored with the U.S. National Science Foundation to cancel 402 "wasteful" variety, fairness and inclusion (DEI) grants, which can save $233 million, together with $1 million for "Antiracist Instructor Management for Statewide Transformation."
