My father, Alexander Wishart, who has died aged 81, started on the foot of the banking ladder aged 16, finally changing into normal supervisor and director of Harrods Financial institution within the Eighties, and regional managing director of the Financial institution of Beirut (UK) within the 90s. He was a proud member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
