Tech blogger Zack Nelson demonstrates this weak point in a sturdiness check on his JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, explaining that the anodized aluminium layer on the iPhone 17 Professional and 17 Professional Max “doesn’t keep on with corners very effectively” — making a weak level within the coating. It is a recognized situation with the electrochemical anodizing course of, so it was a design determination Apple knowingly made.
