In November 1980, I used to be 13 and making my method to Firhill from East Kilbride alone, arriving on the sport to find there was no supervisor within the dugout. It appeared very unusual however, as I went by myself and was too shy to talk to anybody whereas I used to be there, it wasn’t till the subsequent day that I discovered by way of the Sunday Mail that Bertie Auld had resigned and gone to Hibs.
