The Trump administration says it’s pulling half a billion {dollars} from U.S. government-funded analysis tasks to create new mRNA vaccines.
In an announcement this week, U.S. Well being Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a longtime vaccine critic, introduced a “co-ordinated wind-down” amounting to the cancellation of $500 million price of mRNA vaccine improvement below the Biomedical Superior Analysis and Improvement Authority (BARDA).
