From August fifth to the 14th, UN member states, NGOs and scientists met in Geneva to barter a world plastics treaty. One nation is positioning itself as a frontrunner in that battle — Rwanda. The East African nation banned plastic luggage again in 2008… and in 2019, prolonged that ban to all single-use plastics. However regardless of these sweeping measures, Rwanda nonetheless grapples with plastic air pollution.
