Development on a brand new enclosed stadium for the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, Tennessee, has been halted after a noose was discovered on the development website.
Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Kristin Mumford stated in an e mail on Friday that they’re conscious and investigating.
The Tennessee Builders Alliance, a three way partnership partnership on the stadium, stated it suspended development on the website after the “racist and hateful” image was found this week.
“We’re requiring further anti-bias coaching for each particular person on website, and work will resume solely after a site-wide stand-down centered on inclusion and respect,” an announcement from the alliance reads.
The alliance has launched an investigation and is providing a reward for data resulting in the identification of these accountable.
“We’re outraged and deeply saddened by this act,” the alliance’s assertion says. “We’re working in shut partnership with our shopper, commerce companions, and unions to make sure each employee understands that racism and hate haven’t any place right here. Everybody deserves to really feel secure, welcomed, and handled with respect and dignity.”
Tennessee broke floor on the brand new stadium in February 2024 and expects development to be full by February 2027, offering greater than sufficient time for the Titans to maneuver subsequent door from their present open-air stadium for the 2027 NFL season.
