Twelve historic artefacts have been formally returned to Ethiopia after being stored by a German household for greater than 100 years.

The artefacts, initially collected within the Nineteen Twenties by Germany's then-envoy to Ethiopia Franz Weiss and his spouse Hedwig, have been handed over on Wednesday to the Institute of Ethiopian Research at Addis Ababa College.

The objects have been both presents or purchases, in keeping with the household.
