I’ve all the time been a Ford man. Once I was sixteen, I used to be careering across the gravel roads of Allamakee County, Iowa, in a 1966 Galaxie 500 2-door hardtop, with a thundering 390 GT motor. I’ve pushed Fords ever since, for nearly half a century. That behavior is culminating now with my huge, lovely Tremendous Obligation pickup, a diesel-engined beast that weighs as a lot as a U.S. Navy frigate and might tow Mount Rushmore.
