A Palestinian artist who left her residence in Gaza shortly earlier than the October 7 assaults to pursue a masters in wonderful artwork in London has spoken to FRANCE 24 about her work. Malak Mattar turned the primary Palestinian artist to ever have a solo present on the world-renowned Central Saint Martins arts and design faculty. She says together with her exhibition “Falasteen”, the Arabic title for Palestine, she channels rage, love and hope into her work. She advised us the exhibition was a name for “life, equality and dignity”. Mattar can also be creator of the e book “Sitti’s Chicken: A Gaza Story”. She spoke to us in Perspective.
