BRUSSELS (AP) — Ukraine and its European backers on Monday sought talks with U.S. President Donald Trump in an effort to guard their safety pursuits forward of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin later this week.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has to date been excluded from the U.S.-Russia summit in Alaska on Friday, and the Europeans are unlikely to be invited. All are cautious that Putin and Trump would possibly agree, with out Ukraine’s participation, to land swaps of Ukraine’s territory or different phrases which may favor Russia.
