Response from Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PFLP, and Qatar
Previous to Trump’s peace deal being introduced, Hamas had repeatedly burdened that it will not focus on disarmament. The group maintains that its weapons are a “nationwide proper” and that any talks on the matter will come solely after the institution of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. Hamas senior media and political adviser Taher al‑Nunu, residing in Qatar, mentioned, “Hamas’ weapons will stay tied to the institution of a Palestinian state.” One other senior Hamas chief, Mahmoud Mardawi, mentioned, “The weapons of resistance have been by no means used to assault anybody, however for freedom and independence.”
