For the ladies’s staff, that is its first NEC title. For the lads’s staff, that is its second straight championship, third in 4 years.
Howard College has captured each males’s and ladies’s swimming and diving championships for the Northeast Convention. The wins make Howard the standard-bearer for Black swimming packages.
The college excelled on Feb. 20, to take house the Northeast Convention Swimming and Diving Championships. For the ladies’s staff, that is its first NEC title in program historical past. The boys’s staff gained its second straight championship, the third in 4 years.
“This second is about greater than profitable championships. It’s about displaying younger swimmers and divers — particularly those that might not see themselves represented — that they belong on this sport and might excel on the highest stage,” mentioned Nic Askew, director of Swimming & Diving and Tennis, in a written assertion.
The NEC Championships happened on the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, Feb. 17-20.
