Expectations that he may sign an finish to the battle—or announce a floor offensive or a break up from NATO—have been unmet. As an alternative, his 18-minute speech echoed his social media rhetoric: a mixture of “we’re nearly carried out” and threats of escalating assaults, together with placing each Iranian energy plant if a deal isn’t reached. On the Strait of Hormuz, he informed allies merely to “simply take it.”
