A newspaper report printed in Hebrew and English quoting Israeli troopers saying commanders have ordered them to shoot at unarmed hungry crowds of individuals in Gaza making an attempt to succeed in meals distribution websites prompted a scathing response by Israel’s prime minister on Friday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Protection Minister Israel Katz issued a joint assertion calling the Haaretz report “blood libel.”
“These are malicious falsehoods designed to defame the IDF [Israel Defense Forces], essentially the most ethical navy on this planet,” they added.
