Public bathrooms are hardly ever considered fondly – that’s until you’re speaking about these in Tokyo’s Shibuya district. Commissioned in 2019, creatives together with famend architects Shigeru Ban and the late Fumihiko Maki designed 17 stunning, purposeful, meticulously clear public bathrooms, a few of which featured in Wim Wenders’s 2023 movie Excellent Days.
