Liberal candidate loses out in first spherical of Polish election regardless of lead in ballot

Liberal Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski and a conservative historian, Karol Nawrocki, are the front-runners in a presidential election in Poland on Sunday, an exit ballot reveals. They’ll face off in a second spherical in two weeks. “It may be thought-about an unsuccessful marketing campaign for Trzaskowski,” stated FRANCE 24 correspondent Gulliver Cragg. “Far-right votes add as much as over 20 p.c, and people are votes which can be more likely to go to Nawrocki within the second spherical.”
